CABI has been working in invasive species for nearly 100 years. At the heart of this is its capability in biological control of pests and weeds applied through a network of in-country centres and partners. Our work ranges from supporting international conventions such as the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and guidelines that aim to prevent species crossing boarders, to improving national quarantine efforts and working with local farmers to identify and control pests and diseases. In fact, CABI is one of the first points of enquiry for anyone facing invasive pest problems. We are also one of the founding partners of the Global Invasive Species Programme (GISP) – another facet of our commitment to raising the awareness and minimizing the spread of invasive species worldwide.
Whether you’re faced with managing an established invasive species or need to find ways of preventing pests and diseases spreading, we are keen to work with you. Please find more information of our project activities at http://www.cabi.org
